These two photos were published in the Feb. 12, 1927, Los Angeles Times with this extended caption:

Known as “The Fastest-Growing City in America,” Glendale has been given wide publicity during the last few years, and the above photographs bear out the slogan. (Above) is a photograph of Brand Boulevard, the principal thoroughfare of the city in 1910. From a calm and plaid street seventeen years ago, the same thoroughfare (below) is today a boulevard in fact as well as in name. It but typifies the great growth of Glendale during the past few years. (Photographs through courtesy of Security Trust and Savings Bank.)
